Rhinog Fach and Cwm Hosan
The Rhinogydd sit east of Harlech in a part of Snowdonia that many have not heard of. They are among the oldest mountains in Wales — formed from sediment on an ancient seabed five hundred million years ago, compressed and uplifted over successive geological events giving this range its distinctive, terraced character.
Circling Wild Ennerdale
In the Western reaches of the Lake District, there lies a tranquil, remote valley: Ennerdale. After years of work, this has become one of the UK’s largest rewilding projects. The valley is now home to Peregrine Falcons, Pine Martens and Roe Deer. Despite its location, this valley feels ancient and perfectly preserved.
Tal y Fan and Foel Lwyd
A short walk from the town of Llanfairfechan, Tal y Fan offers excellent views over the North Welsh Coast, spanning back to the Welsh Marches. A gentle walk in, combined with an uncomplicated ascent make this route highly rewarding for the effort required.
St David’s Head
Wales’ smallest city is a very special place indeed. Situated at the far Western edge of Wales, St David’s is a colourful market town surrounded by famous Pembrokeshire coast. This route visits Carns visible from St David’s, along with the beaches on the way.
Blencathra, Sharp Edge and Bannerdale Crags
Gracing the Northern edges of the Lake District, Blencathra cuts a distinct silhoutte. While it’s Northern slopes are soft and grassy, the Southern aspect has fallen away revealing a harsh, rocky face. Connecting to Bannerdale via Sharp Edge, this is a route offering panoramic views and generous open spaces.
Cwm Eigiau circular
Only a ridge apart from Llyn Ogwen and the Glydderau, Cwm Eigiau is something of a hidden gem. Easily accessible from Conwy, this route leads walkers on a circuit around the Eastern Carneddau, summiting Carnedd Llewellyn.
Helvellyn and Castyecam from Glenridding
Beginning in the peaceful lakeside village of Glenridding, this route summits both Helvellyn and Catstyecam via Red Tarn and the famous Striding Edge ridge. Described as Wainwright's 'Friendly Giant', this is one of the most popular hill walks in the Lakes.
